From Catering to Market Stall to City Square

Back in 2013 MaMaGOTO’s journey began with Yukari and Heath Keizer sharing authentic Japanese flavours through a humble catering venture, which quickly grew by popular demand to a stall at the markets where locals fell in love with the home-style cooking. Yukari wanted a permanent spot, leading to MaMaGOTO’s sunlit home in the very heart of Coffs Harbour at City Square.

Today, the MaMaGOTO family welcomes Kaeko Kumamoto.  With support from Yukari and Heath, Kaeko intends to carry on the warm tradition of honouring traditional Japanese flavours through heart-crafted, homestyle recipes.

Kaeko, having long called the Coffs Coast her second home with her family, extended family and friends on the Coffs Coast for the last 20 years, is working hard with the great team from MaMaGOTO to beautifully preserve the café's roots, while slowly infusing it with the breezy seaside energy of dishes from her UNESCO listed hometown, Shingu City in Wakayama Prefecture.

Japanese FlavoUr Meets East Coast

MaMaGOTO perfectly embraces the laid-back, east-coast Australian lifestyle. Designed to make the most of the Coffs Coast’s gorgeous, year-round beautiful weather, the entire MaMaGOTO experience is completely alfresco. It’s a welcoming, open-air space where you can feel the ocean breeze and enjoy a unique "Japanese Alfresco by the sea".
